Dear John Wesley Methodist Church Family,
As we enter 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the state of our church, particularly our financial stewardship. First and foremost, I am deeply grateful for your generosity and faithfulness over the past year.
December 2024 was by far the highest giving December since I joined our church—a true blessing for so many reasons. Your giving reflects not only a commitment to John Wesley Methodist Church but also your love for Christ and His Kingdom. Thank you for all you sacrifice to support this great church and its mission.
A Financial Snapshot
We’ve completed the calendar year 2024, and now have the results of our annual Partnership in Generosity campaign.
Despite our optimism at the start of the year and a budget reflecting anticipated growth, we experienced a slight decline in giving compared to the prior year.
However, there are bright spots worth celebrating:
A Word of Gratitude
Every dollar given represents sacrifice, faith, and trust in God’s provision. Your gifts empower our mission to Connect, Grow, and Activate as we serve God and our community. We honor the decisions each of you make to prioritize giving as part of your discipleship, and we are thankful for every act of generosity. We continually remember that we have been entrusted with this gifts and putting them to use wisely towards achieving our vision, mission and calling.
The Path Forward
While we are blessed with reserve funds that help us absorb the current shortfall, we know that relying on reserves is not a long-term solution. This year, we will prayerfully consider the next steps to grow the number of givers, deepen our culture of generosity, and align our resources with the ministry and mission God has called us to fulfill.
Stewardship is not merely about finances—it is a reflection of our faith, trust, and response to God’s blessings. Let us continue to lean on His provision, knowing that He has great plans for John Wesley Methodist Church.
Our Invitation to You
As we move forward, we invite every member to join us in prayer, presence, gifts, and service. Together, we can ensure John Wesley remains a beacon of hope and light in our community. Let us also commit to praying for one another, particularly those facing financial challenges.
As we grow in generosity, may we reflect the heart of Christ—marked by sacrificial love, grace, and steadfast faith. God is big enough, and His promises are sure. I believe 2025 will be a year of renewed energy, mission, and discipleship as we continue to be faithful stewards of His blessing.
In Christ,

A Financial Snapshot
We’ve completed the calendar year 2024, and now have the results of our annual Partnership in Generosity campaign.
- Gifts Received for 2024: $2,322,000
- Budgeted Giving for 2024: $2,452,000
- Gifts Received for 2023: $2,401,000
Despite our optimism at the start of the year and a budget reflecting anticipated growth, we experienced a slight decline in giving compared to the prior year.
However, there are bright spots worth celebrating:
- Pledged Giving: The 2025 annual Estimate of Giving (EOG) Campaign results show pledged gifts are up $41,000 compared to where the 2024 campaign stood a year ago, totaling $1,901,000. This marks the first time in recent years we have met our target!
- December Giving: We experienced the strongest December giving in recent years, with giving up 10% compared to December 2023 and up more than 30% over December giving since 2016.
- Over the past five years, John Wesley has weathered the challenges of the COVID pandemic and the disaffiliation process. By God’s grace, our church remains alive and well. Despite the many challenges that we have faced, and thanks to some additional funds, our cash position as of December 31, 2024 was virtually the same as it was five years ago.
