Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.

Matthew 28:19

The people of John Wesley Church are very active both in our community and beyond. We have sent international mission teams to Belize, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, and our current focus countries, Kenya and Costa Rica. Nationally, our youth mission teams have served all around Texas with UM Army and the Texas Ramp Project. We participate in outreach projects in the greater Houston area and in numerous special mission events.

Our Missions Committee consists of a team leader and 21 team members. The Missions Committee meets monthly to review current and past projects and to plan for upcoming mission opportunities.

GLOBAL MISSION PROJECTS

Current International Mission Projects

KENYA
JWMC partners with the Methodist Church and Rev. Joe Kamau in Gilgil, Kenya, helping support him and his pastors as well as sponsoring students at the Trinity Boys and Girls Boarding Schools. We continue to provide assistance in micro-financing in local communities, the building of clinics, and a women’s shelter and empowerment center.  We have also helped them in times of floods, locust invasions, drought and the drilling of a water well.
COSTA RICA
We help support Methodist Missionary Ray Zirkel in his mission in Costa Rica which includes a seminary to train pastors, a Methodist children’s home and the building and empowerment of local churches. We take teams periodically to assist in the various projects throughout the country organized by the Methodist Church.
