Real Questions is a current concept idea for a ministry at John Wesley. By design, it is meant to engage Christians and non-Christians alike. This time is not a debate and it isn’t a lecture. It is a moderated conversation about the questions beneath the surface of faith and life..
Some questions don’t go away. They stay with you.
So what do you do with the questions that stay?
THE VISION
Real Questions is a space where honest questions about life, culture, spirituality, and faith are welcomed and explored through open conversation—grounded in Scripture and shaped by grace. The topics: We aren’t choosing the questions everyone is already arguing about. We’re choosing the questions people may not realize they need to ask.
The topics could be:
* What if the life I built isn’t the life I really wanted?
* Why do I still feel empty when my life is going well?
* What do I do when God doesn’t seem necessary anymore?
* Can you be a good person without God?
* Why does forgiveness sometimes feel wrong?
* What if I believe in God but don’t really trust Him?
* Why are we so afraid of death if we believe in eternal life?
* Does everything really happen for a reason?
* What if doubt is part of faith rather than the opposite of faith?
* Who gets to decide what is true?
* Why do people who believe the same Bible sometimes reach different conclusions?
* What is a human being actually for?
HOW IT WORKS
Each week, we introduce a topic.
You can submit a question—online or in person.
Three questions are selected.
Those individuals briefly share their question and why it matters.
From there, the pastor helps guide a thoughtful, respectful, and grace-filled conversation.
Not every question gets answered—
but every question matters.
