✔ Ordination pathway

Why Consider This Now?

We are independent, but independence was never meant to mean isolation.
Strong churches choose wise accountability.
This step strengthens our theological grounding, leadership development, and long-term stability.

What Stays the Same

• Independent
• Autonomous
• Self-governing
• Property-owning

What We Gain

• Partnership
• Accountability
• Leadership development
• Future pastoral pathway

What About Kenya?

In the United States, the MCC is an association — not a denomination.
In Kenya, government law requires church associations to register as denominations.
There is no governance authority from Kenya over John Wesley Methodist Church.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE METHODIST COLLEGIATE CHURCH (MCC)?
The MCC is a small but growing association of independent and autonomous Methodist churches committed to:
  • Biblical orthodoxy
  • Wesleyan theology
  • Pastoral accountability
  • Healthy collaboration
It is not a denomination in the United States, but a voluntary association of churches.
WHY CONSIDER THIS NOW?
As an independent Methodist church, we have freedom — but we were never meant to function in isolation.

This step strengthens:
  • Our connection with other Methodist Churches
  • Our pastoral and leadership development
  • Our theological grounding
  • Our future pastoral pipeline
  • Our best practices
ARE WE BECOMING A DENOMINATION AGAIN?
No. The MCC is an association, not a denomination.
DOES THIS CHANGE OUR BELIEFS?
No. It reinforces our Wesleyan theological grounding.
IS THIS POLITICAL?
No. This is about healthy partnership and long-term sustainability. Our social stances do not change, and the MCC does not hold differing stances. There are no official political stances held by the MCC.
ARE WE PROTECTED FROM THEOLOGICAL DRIFT FROM THEOLOGICAL OR SOCIAL STANCES?
Yes. The MCC is in full alignment with our doctrine and social stances.  The JW Core Leadership Team will do an annual evaluation of the MCC association. If leaving the MCC is necessary, it only takes a simple vote from the JW CLT and notification to the MCC.
