Loving Others Through Martha’s Ministry

One of the trademarks of John Wesley Methodist is “loving others as we are called to love ourselves.” In our church community, we often have members who are navigating challenging times, and one of the most meaningful ways we can extend love and support is by providing meals.
Our Care Ministry begins by reaching out to the Groups or Teams these individuals are part of—such as Sunday School, Bible Study, Choir, or Women’s Circle. But sometimes, those in need haven’t been able to join a Group or Team for a while, or they might be new and still connecting to our church family.
That’s where Martha’s Ministry comes in—a vital part of our JW Meal Ministry. This team steps in to provide meals for members who might not have a strong support network yet. As part of this ministry, you might be asked a few times a year to prepare or provide a meal for a couple or family in need.
What if cooking isn’t your thing or you’re pressed for time? Don’t worry! There are plenty of easy options—like soup in a crockpot, picking up a rotisserie chicken and salad, or even sending a restaurant gift card.
By serving on Martha’s Ministry, you’re offering more than just food—you’re sharing the love & care of our JW family with someone who may be feeling overwhelmed. It’s a beautiful way to use your gifts to bless others.
