Rev. Dr. Marty Dunbar
Senior Pastor
Senior Pastor Dr. Marty Dunbar came to John Wesley Church in July of 2015 from Marvin UMC in Tyler, Texas. His 20 years in local church ministry include 8 years at Marvin UMC in Tyler, Texas, and 11 years at White’s Chapel UMC in Southlake, Texas.
After graduating from Southlake Carroll High School, Marty received a scholarship to play football for Baylor University, where he was the starting center. He lettered in football and track and received his degree in Radio, TV, and Film from Baylor, then followed his call into the ordained ministry by receiving his Masters of Divinity at Brite Divinity School at TCU. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Graduate Theological Foundation in May of 2013, and has been ordained in the United Methodist Church since 2002.
He is the author of a devotional book titled STOPS: 40 Encounters to the Cross. Marty loves to play golf, watch movies, and build the Kingdom of God through growing the local church. His greatest witness is his marriage and his children. Marty lives in the Klein area with his wife, Jami, a Registered Nurse. They have three children: Jillian, Noah, and Grayson.

Rev. Trish Woodruff
Reach Pastor
The Reverend Trish Woodruff joined the JWMC pastoral staff in 2022, and comes to us from Lakewood UMC, where she served as the Pastor of Missions and Outreach. Trish previously served for two years as an Associate Pastor at Cornerstone UMC in Houston in discipleship, missions, care ministries, and stewardship. Trish is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky with a Masters of Divinity, and Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Business Administration.
Trish serves several ministries in Houston, including the Children’s Activity Center in the Bellaire area, Neighbors in Action (Port of Houston), and Rescue Houston. Trish loves the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and working in her yard. God has given her a love for people and a love for Jesus. She feels like ministry as a vocation is living in the sweet spot. Trish considers her biggest blessing to be her family.

Dr. Eric Pugh
Chief of Operations
Dr. Pugh has been on staff in his current role since April of 2021. Eric has 18 years of full-time experience, working and serving local churches in Houston and Dallas. Prior to his work in the local church, Eric was in Parks and Recreation Management. Dr. Pugh is a skilled administrator with many gifts, including public speaking, staff development and coaching. He is currently pursuing certification from the International Coaching Federation.
Dr. Pugh is a native Ohioan who became a Texas transplant in 2002. He is married and has three daughters. He and his family enjoy spending time together and visiting new places where they can experience the beauty of creation together.
Eric holds a BS in Biological Sciences from The Ohio State University. He earned an MTS from SMU Perkins School of Theology with a concentration in Practical Theology. He has a Doctor of Ministry, with a concentration in Preaching, from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
Dr. Pugh serves on the board of Directors for Project Chacocente USA, a non-profit that seeks to improve the quality of life for people in Nicaragua. Additionally he is an ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church and serves the Methodist Youth Ministry Alliance, a non-profit that seeks to encourage, educate, and empower youth and youth workers across the world.
